NEW FILM SOCIETY EQUIPMENT IN MATTHEWS HALL

Matinee audiences had a difficult time in the second half of our 2009-10 season.

We had three breakdowns of various kinds in the six films shown after Christmas, and we believe the fault was with our DVD player. We are very sorry for the irritation this caused some of our audience.

We have now replaced that DVD player with a new one which is being tested over the summer so should be trouble-free for the season ahead.

One piece of good news from last season is that the improvements made to Matthews Hall in 2009 appear to have eliminated most of the acoustics problems. There were very few issues regarding sound clarity last season and we intend to keep up this quality in the year ahead.
