Topsham Film Society News Cat On A Hot Tin Roof is our Members’ Choice This season the clear favourite in our Members’ Choice poll has been the 1958 film of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. It will be shown on Friday 17 February at 3pm and 7.30pm. Wealthy plantation owner Big Daddy Pollitt (Burl Ives), celebrating his 65th birthday, is visited by his sons Brick (Paul Newman) and Gooper (Jack Carson). The story is one of greedy offspring anxiously expecting to inherit Daddy's millions but for many enthusiasts of this film the starring role is that of flirtatious Maggie, played by Elizabeth Taylor. Your Committee...and Your Help Topsham Film Society is a thriving organisation. Some committee members are leaving at the end of this season so we are actively recruiting new people to help. You can select titles to be shown, publicise our matinees and evening performances, operate the projection equipment or run the bar. Being involved is fun, easy and very rewarding.
