Topsham Film Society Film Votes The TFS audience reaction system is
one used by all similar clubs in the British Federation of Film
Societies. The votes in each category (Excellent, Good, Fair,
Poor and Awful) are multiplied and the resulting score then divided
by the number of votes cast, to end up with a percentage. 'Excellent'
votes are multiplied by 100, 'Good' by 75, 'Fair' by 50, 'Poor'
by 25 and 'Awful' by 0. At its simplest the resulting percentage
scores show which films were liked better than others. But sometimes
a movie that 'divides' an audience can be worthwhile too - controversy
is not always a bad thing.
